Thank you for the link that's what I was looking for
Move over Favre and Ripken, you're the real Ironman...
A minimum of a mile and basically unverifiable. I'm sure most of those people are scrupulously honest. Given human nature, I'd bet not all of them are.
I could see him doing that.
hit about 180 days or so, not too much
ts
110 days, should of taken a day off. This was over the summer and I went into my first season of college xc dead. My body wasn't used to it or ready to take that on, live and learn.
There is no quick fix to getting better. To get better as a distance running takes great consistency over a long period of time. You have to work hard day in and day out for years and years. You are working on gradually adapting your body to consistent stress.
When I go for a streak I count 1 mile as the minimum. This is because the day after a hard marathon or even half marathon I can barely move. So if I'm going for a streak I'll go out and jog a mile and consider it a recovery day.

Dang, over 17 years w/out missing a day! Ha-ha, your total brought this thread to a crawl...who can keep up w/numbers like that? Streaks...they have a life of their own and I'm sure you have a tale or two about unique ways you've extended yours. Strange places, odd hours, fighting illness, etc.
My record is 189 days with a minimum of 4 miles per day, I "broke" it when I came down with a broken foot from a rock climbing accident. All I wanted to do was beat my fathers (3x all american) record of 120 days, and I did, so I never started a streak again. I just run when I feel like it and don't when I don't.
Which reminds me, I'm not a runner either. I guess I used to be when i was an all american in college... but now that I don't go into a massive depressed state if I miss a day of running, am not sponsored, and don't live my life to race on Saturday I'm no longer a runner :-(. I must be one of the fastest "joggers" around though!!! Hell, I bet I beat all but one local "runners" tomorrow in a 5k road race. How pathetic, runners get'in a whoop'in by a jogger... Oh, and I'm a hick too, so I done not even be a jog'in, maybe just an ignorant redneck a chasin dem squirels!

day after my vacectomy (with lots of "support")
Whoa, big guy! Too much information indeed! Why'd you agree to such procedure? Lemme guess. Pussy whipped? Yep. Wife told you to cut the wang or else you couldn't have any fun with her huh. She didn't want to go another 9 months saddle bagged with your sperm in her stomach? That's cool man. Just stand up for yourself like a man next time dude.
Don't worry youngster your day will come. It's called being a responsible parent and spouse.

Don't get me wrong. I always respect you Mr. Worthen, stand up guy who posts real name. I don't know about being so called responsible though. That's not the only way to go. Cutting your wang man!
Come clean. The wife didn't want tubes tied huh? She wanted you under the knife!
There is this dude in upstate ny. name is dickie vincent. he has run every day for at least 25 years. he has you all beat ... guaranteed. cool guy, too.
wow, sounds familiear, miles and miles. my min is 3, ran through son's birth (although that streak was shorter, about 400 days) and the morning of vasectomy. the next day had to wear two jocks, briefs and shorts with liner. obviously a 3-miler. i've had streaks of 498, 400 or so and am currently at 2120 and counting.
