And the northern ireland conflict wasn't like WWII. These were para-military groups, not governments, waging war. And while the conflict was indeed mainly political, there were also ethnic elements, and religious ones (the conflict partly originated over discrimination against minority catholics, who yes, were also Irish).
All of you need to calm down with your "THAT'S NOT A PERFECT ANALOGY!!!" I didn't say it was. I said, in very recent history, some protestants (and catholics) carried out some horrific, terrorist bombings, killing many innocents, and I don't give a f-ck what their supposed rationale was, it was terrorism, and abhorrent. (and yes, I said it doesn't touch what the jihadists have done en masse. )
