Did anybody else think that Brown was going to deck the shit out of de Lima for his silly airplane antics; he looked pissed. Probably due to his consecutive fourths.
No, he always looks like that.

Why the hell did Brown want to Wales for anyway when he ran for England in the 94 Commonwealth Games?
He qualifies by birth right to run for Wales (he's from Bridgend), and he does not live in England anymore.

I feel for Jon. Not only was he 4th in two Olympics but also Commonwealth Games and European Championships.
One of my most memorable Olympic experiences was in 2000. I had trained with Jon leading up to the Games in Whistler. He had an awesome day, missing bronze by a mere 7 seconds. I struggled. There waiting at the finish line was Jon with a towel. Most other athletes would be off talking to the press and celebrating.
That gesture of friendship is typical Jon. He is a really good person.
As far as his future in Canada, here are his words:
"Even though I will be a Canadian by the end of this year the thought of having to work with Athletics Canada is not appealing right now. The Canadian federation does a terrible job for its athletes and has no long term strategy or quality leadership. I'd love to run for Canada after this year but unless the federation sorts itself out I can't see that happening."
Incidentally, he wouldn't have qualified for the Canadian Olympic team.

This has been covered before, but that's truly pathetic and shows how little AC cares for distance running. For all its shortcomings, USATF is committed to getting as many qualified athletes to the Games as possible and I thinkwe saw the benefits of that in the marathons.
And Bruce, you, as Pan Am silver medallist, belonged in Athens as well.
