The women's 800m looks weak so far this year and Cain currently sits #9 on the world list with her 1:59.51. I think she'd have some chance of making the world final, but I agree that once there she would be very unlikely to be a contender.

Also, Simpson won the WC 1500M in 4:05.40...she out-kicked the leaders in the the last 80M. This is the type race that would favor Cain.

Low 12s...are you saying Cain has a kick like Geb or KB? Cain is a 54x 400m runner, I suspect low 12s is the best she could do in a 100m dash.

Cain won the US indoor mile. Her two 800 races and her 5000 race were designed in part to prepare her to run the fastest 1500 she can run. Salazar has said she ran the 5000 in part just in case something happened in the 1500. He sees her as a 1500 runner. There is no possible way she is running the 800 instead of the 1500. Do Ritz and Rupp run separate events?

I know for a fact that Mary Cain will be running the 1500m in Des Moines. Don't ask me how, just know that this isn't my speculation, this is actual information I have gotten,
