Ballhog, I love it. One of Jordan's best moments ever was dishing to Steve Kerr in '97 so Kerr could win game 6 and the NBA title. Kobe would have taken that shot himself instead of passing. As would Lebron.

Watching them both, LBJ better passer and rebounder. Jordan quicker, but not as good a shooter. Jordan better defender, but a ballhog. Jordan more competitive, but not as good a teammate.
Not as good a shooter? Are you joking? Lebron is a 75% FT shooter. MJ was 85% at the same time period. MJ shot 51.9% or higher 5 years in a row from age 24 on....lebron was 27 the first year he shot that well and has only twice. (Granted this year is off the charts) Pippen was awesome but he was no Wade. People are more scared of leaving wade open than pippen. Jordan got doubled and tripled a ridic amount. Michael had low 3pt percentages when he didn't shoot much but every year he did, he shot awesome. Michael was also smaller. He had to get more out of his ability than James does...not knocking James just the facts that Lebron has a gift of being big and athletic.
Lebron can't be called a great shooter if he never hits 80% even for free throws. Jordan did it every year 83.2% or higher except for his 17 game comeback year until he turned 34 (then retired #2).

I think it's pretty well known that Lebron would never hesitate to let someone else take the last shot if they had a better chance. What are you basing your opposing viewpoint on?
And yet no one talks about the real MJ: Magic Johnson.
One on one, in their prime, I would take LeBron over Jordan, mainly because of LeBron's freakish speed/strength combination. LeBron would be able to back Jordan down at will.
LBJ a better teammate???? Like when he disappears in games when thing are going bad or in close games? Or bolts to play with 2 other all stars?

What??? Lebron is better suited for team play. Jordan was faster and had better moves. One on one you can't back someone down the whole time.....what on earth are you talking about. Jordan would take him from the top and not let him bye. Two on two with Lebron VS Jordan Lebron would be better suited because yes then he could back Jordan down since he'd have someone dishing to him down low.

"Bolt" implies some sort of quickness or speed. He stayed with Cleveland for years. Pretty much the opposite of bolting.

1-on-1, I have no doubt that Lebron would win. In a 5-on-5 team context, Jordan might still be the better player.
Surely you are joking. Lebron is not a 1-on-1 type player. Jordan (or even a mere Kobe) would destroy Lebron in 1-on-1. As far as 5-on-5, it is not even close. If you saw Jordan play in his prime you are pretty much automatically embarrassed for anyone who thinks that Lebron could even hold a candle to him.
Reminds me of 3 or 4 years ago when everyone was saying the same things about Kobe being better than Jordan. With time and perspective nobody is saying that anymore.
Pippen was always jealous of Jordan. Couldn't stand being Robin to Jordan's Batman. He will always get in a dig at The Man whenever he gets a chance. If you think his statement about Lebron means any more than this then you are clueless about both basketball and human beings.
I see it now, time has faded the greatness of MJ. All these fans watching Lebron, and never seeing MJ live in his prime will never understand his greatness.
Someone asked about MJs best year. Well he averaged
32.5 pts, 8 assists, 8 rbnds, 3 steals! and shot 53.8%
LeBron has never had a year like this

this. honestly, do you people not have youtube? spend 20 minutes or so and search for highlights of Jordan and then of James.
Honestly, you'll probably be shivering watching Jordan play. It's absolutely unreal. James? Ha, I can't even make it through an entire reel because it's so lackadaisical and...boring!
Everytime this sort of comparison comes up, somebody has to make the joke...
Yeah, LeBron might be better than Jordan at this point, but in fairness to MJ, he is 50 years old and long retired.

Jordan played with Rodman and Pippen. Get the f*ck over it.
Lebron is the better teammate, just look at assist numbers.
What do you mean just look at his assist #s? What do they show? Doesnt show LBJ is a better teamate or has significantly more assists than MJ did after 10 yrs?
Doesnt LBJ have Wade and Bosh
People always forget about Jordan's all-around game. Not only did he win championships, MVPs, and scoring titles; but he won Defensive POY in '87-'88. One of only 4 players to win an MVP and Defensive POY in their career. Lebron has the opportunity to do that, but the rest of his stats that year would plummet from all the energy he would need to focus on defense. Jordan was consistently one of the best defenders in the NBA every year. For those who have seen Magic, Bird, Jordan, and now Lebron, we all realize the only player who belongs in the discussion with Jordan is from long ago; Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

WTF are you talking about? Lebron was 2nd in Defensive Player of the Year this year and you could make a damn good argument he was robbed and should have won it. Also had one of his most efficient and best all around offensive years of his career so there goes your stats plummeting theory.

Rodman was a defender and rebound specialist averaging about 5 points per game with the Bulls. He was the fifth option on offense no matter who the Bulls had on the court. Certainly not someone to pad anybody's assist count.
These "Jordan vs. James" debates are absurd.
First of all, Lebron James is already 10x the player Jordan ever was. (And spare us all the ridiculous argument about who has the most championships. It is irrelevant.)
Second of all, Jordan doesn't even crack the Top 10 best players of all time. I'll give credit where it's due; Jordan was a great leader and a prolific offensive player. But that's where it ends. His game was one-dimensional (offense). Any defensive accolades MJ received should probably have been awarded to the refs who refused to call fouls on him. Anybody could be a great defensive force if there were no rules against excessive physical contact.
The only reason MJ is considered by some to be the best ever is because too many sheep bit on the endless marketing campaign...hook, line and sinker.
