Hey OP,
I know this thread has been out of the loop for a little time but, but I just wanted to wish you the best of luck training and hope that you keep going strong to get what you want to achieve. I myself was a HS track runner, albeit not a very fast runner. Nevertheless, I was always a big fan of getting out to run, and it had kept me in shape. Being on a team was extra motivation to keep at it. I had graduated high school two years ago, and since coming to college, running has sadly been put on the back-burner. I was able to fit some running, swimming and some races in during my freshman year, but sophomore year took a toll on my fitness. I am currently just starting up again with running and although my story is nothing like a college runner's heroic but unfortunate injury, the drastic sluggish running that's taken over is definitely frustrating.
You said you were looking for motivational stories, I know. I believe, though, that your story and your mental drive are more inspirational to me more than many other things I have read. I'd like to thank YOU for somewhat renewing my joy in running and hope that you keep up the great work. Coming back from a tough, long injury like that has to be tough. Keep going at it easy and ease back into the swing of things and you'll be peachy, I know it.
Fun Runnings!
Louis
