She quit the team. I actually heard this from the father of someone on the team. Don't know the reason.

Is Cayla Hatton update?
Great use of grammar - this does not even make sense!

Supposedly she has a stress fracture but I also heard that she'd quit the team after the fall (I believe before the fracture was diagnosed).
Remember she quit the team in high school also and ran on her own with a private coach. Nothing new here. Worked out fine for her then.

Deer elmore,
...oh forget it.
"is" cayla? Run less... Read more.
My understanding was that she was injured for two years in high school, was still recovering when the school started her senior year but needed accommodations from the coach to continue her recovery- specifically time for PT work. It couldn't be done and as a result, used a private coach for the remainder of her senior year.
Immense talent, great freshman XC year, hopefully everything works out.
More than left the team.
Left school after winter quarter . . . referred to as "stopping out" . . . for unspecified personal reasons.

If this is true that's sad. It's one thing to drop out of D1 running but another thing to drop out of school. I know that saying it on some anonymous message board won't make any difference, but I hope she is ok.

It's an inside joke! You are obviously a newbie to this forum.
She is on medical leave, so that does not portend leaving the team; however, my information (just general commentary available) might be dated but it can be easy to misinterpret some terms used by people. She was hurt in the fall but still ran well in XC but the medical issues needed addressing, apparently. (Are her parents docs; I think she is pre-med).

Don't use fancy words unless you're sure of their meaning and commonly accepted usage.
This might be another candidate for my high school refund rule: if you can't finish your college running career you have to give back the high school titles and college scholarships that you earned through excessive training and/or disordered eating.
It really screws the system to have all the attention focused on the few outliers whose methods aren't sustainable.

This sounds like one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard. Instead of punishing girls who have problems, the system should be working with girls who have eating problems. In theory, fixing a life should be more important than winning championships and titles. With your "refund rule" you're trying to treat the outcome/consequences, not the source of the problem (which is body issues and a lack of action regarding disordered eating in sports).
And we don't even know if Hatton has an eating disorder! I wouldn't think so, I couldn't see any signs of it in photos of her.

What system? And how does this focused attention screw the system? And what does that have to do with titles and scholarships? And don't you think it's a bit early to say she won't finish her collegiate career?
I heard the same info. as posted above by Robert. You can't blame Stanford for health problems a girl has in the first 1-3 months she's on campus. That's pre-existing stuff.
Chapus had been doing fine at Stanford, but is injured now.

Those are sort of opposite statements don't you think?
P.S. It does stink for the girls who wanted to come to Stanford but got shut out by faster superstars, only to learn that girls like Chetelat, Sveinsson, and Hatton barely ran/didn't even run for the team before quitting.
Why is Hannah Brown not running pac12. Big VA talent. Beginning to worry about why all the Blacksburg Va. talents don't improve in college. Maybe their hs coach is better than the college coaches they go to.
be omen: to be an indication that something, especially something unpleasant, is going to happen indicate: to indicate or signify somethingSo this is grounds for calling the vocab police? Maybe you are not thinking about the same outcomes that I am.
