Will's recognition is well deserved, no doubt; however, it should have happened months ago while he was still here with us to appreciate it.

Agreed......nice job guys....this was the right choice.
Glad you liked the article.
I wish Will had lived to see it.
Meeting him in October was a really memorable experience that taught me a lot.
Once December came I started really finally working on the article. My goal was to finish it before I left the country before New Year's. I learned Will died I on the 26th and turned it into more of a tribute piece with much more coming from the Eddy Lee 5k Thread on Will as you have to read the entire thing to appreciate the thread's beauty and all of Will's contribution to this site.
Robert and crew waited until I got back to publish it and we accidentally left the date as 2012 which has now been changed to 2013.
Don't worry Weldon, Will is looking down smiling.
Cheers!

I too really appreciated this classy tribute. I read it early in the morning and my wife caught me trying to hide my tears. I particularly liked that the letsrun community was so supportive and loving. I couldn't help but think of my own running friend who passed away from cancer in 2007. RIP Will Steele and RIP Elijah Barrett. Thank you for teaching us how to make the most of the days we have.
Also agree that this was the right thing to do. Very inspiring. I am going to dedicate my next run to Will.

Thanks Weldon and Robert. You know from our friendship how much this article means to me, other cancer fighters, and the compassionate on this board.
NYT or Wash Post should run with this in some fashion.
Will, you blessed us all with your open sharing and true grit.
great job letsrun guys - I like to think of lrc as a community and this sort of thing reinforces that. Which is nice. And it lets Will's family know that that people who didn't know him personally cared for him. His life ripples on indeed.

Awesome tribute. I feel honored to have been quoted. I'm sitting in my cubicle and had to wipe the tears from eyes several times.
Well done, joho, on having written those words that were quoted.
Thank you Authorian for this thread and LetsRun for the article and videos.
Great work. You guys take some flak but that shows just how amazing this site can be. Some fantastic words about life, death and running.
RIP Will.
"for he was a runner"
?
Agreed. Good stuff.
That piece is very inspiring - just an amazing man - brought tears to my eyes. Reminds me to appreciate each day and take nothing for granted.
And now if we could have a page dedicated to another inspiring, positive, respected and accomplished runner who recently lost her 15-year battle with brain cancer - Johanna Olson.
Anyone who has ever met her would agree she's much deserving of a tribute page as well.
