Lance Armstrong transcended sport. He wasn't just another nameless cyclist. That's a big thing.
Wasn't around for the Black Sox scandall or some of the football point shaving stories in the 50s. But this is bigger than SMU and Ben Johnson, not as big as Nixon's resignation. On the same level as OJ and Penn State, although the crimes committed in those cases were obviously worse, on the level of scandal to sport this is right up there. Lance will go down as one of the great scoundrels of all time.
