Nike Terminates Lance Armstrong Contract

If Nike had a strict policy of only sponsoring clean athletes, they'd currently be sponsoring as many professional athletes as Mizuno does. And their profits would be about the same, too. I'm not arguing in favor or against the morality of what Nike does, just saying that it is what it is.

or maybe Nike was in the business of helping Lance and others to cover up years of drug use until the whole world realized that Lance's career is a scam. Nike then decided that they will come out of this best if they throw Lance under the bus. Everyone will then not suspect other Nike athletes as being users. A simple PR move.

Ask Marion Jones how much drug tests count. Tests of all kinds can be beaten. My friend, who is a policeman beat his lie detector test before being hired. The thing is, Marion Jones never tested positive but Lance did. You need to wake up buddy. Please tell me how the who is not doping is beating all the dopers? It's simply not possible. You mean to tell me that a man can just magically win that damn race seven times and be clean? In the biggest doping era of the sport? Damn man, he's just the same as all the top riders of that time. I love how Nike comes out acting all high and mighty...we were lied to, we didn't know...what a joke. Anyone involved in the professional sports business know that Nike is involved/backing 90% of doping in sport - especially track and field. Why do you think Nike requires their top athletes to only work with specific coaches? Who do you think set up Sprint Capital and Trevor Graham? Nike is dirty, but then, so are most mulit-billion dollar companies. Their business is to make money, not set moral standards.

Again, it's easy to beat up Nike on the msg boards and make everything into a conspiracy. How did they help cover up for Lance? Seems like Lance did this nicely by himself. Sure they suspected like the rest of us, but there was no real evidence until now.And yes, throw him under the bus when the evidence is overwhelming. Right. AYB's contract ran to term. It wasn't terminated or renewed. There's a difference. Your point could be true but you need another example.

I also believe that Salazar is next. Having your name on a building has become meaningless. Joe Pa and Lance are proof positive of that.

Nike has gotten to her. No comment from anyone in Jerry's crew or Alberto's crew. It is ridiculous how a contract with Nike prevents you from having an opinion. "THE NIKE CULT"

She also may have thought the better of it, but I don't doubt that it was out of fear of some sort of reprisal, that's for sure.

If I was paying someone hundreds of thousands a year to rep my product you can damn well bet I'd be concerned about what came out of their mouth!
