Lavillenie revealed in the French press that his coach's personality clashed with his and that they didn't get along. Would anyone keep a coach like that even if they won? There is more to life than winning. If you're not having fun in your daily job then you would not stay in that job for very long even if you were making great money.
Have to agree with Bang Kok here, as this statement from the vaulter indicates something really bothersome to him:
