Bekele vs. Geb or Geb vs. Tergat are probably the greatest races... In terms of WR's, I would say Bekele's current WR was pretty damn great. If he had someone to pace him for longer than 5K, then it would be 5+ seconds faster. Last lap of 53 and last 100 of <11 seconds.

Wasn't Lagat hurt in the build up to Beijing? Either way, he had no chance against Bekele on that day. He ran something absurd like 4:59 for the last 2km and his last 3k was 7:35 I think. Bonkers running, no one had a chance.

Last 100 of <11 seconds? No problem, even <10 seconds was possible for him. Maybe 9.57, but I'm not sure about that.

Wow. It makes me laugh now when people say that Farah could beat Bekele in his prime. Even as a Brit and huge Farah fan when Bekele was ready to roll he was unstoppable.
