The train impacted a few of the other runners in the race, however, it occurred on the return toward the finish and was of minimal time.
The race was a fundraiser for a local non-profit veterinary hospital (although if you use their services the "non" seems to get dropped from "profit"). He was not running this hard at all merely participating as a citizen of Portland(ia).

I'd be more worried about the 9 year old that beat him.
The dog's form looks really good in the picture and clearly wants to pass that stiff just in front with the tongue hanging out.

Solinsky is no loner arguably better than Rupp when they are both healthy. Rupp has exceeded Solinsky's range now. By the end of the summer you'll realize how much so.
Running a road race with a train crossing...I guess that is a form of cross-training!
Why don't we ever get to hear about a train running over a dozen or so hobby joggers during a race?
