I guess 13.15 for Cragg!
But what about Marius Bakken, the norwegian 13.08 runner this year in his first race!!??
I guess 13.01!

Cragg blow? where have you ever seen that in the USA. Lose by a second or two but never blow, that is left for most other weak willed runners who give up. Even if Cragg does hurt he will give 110% and get a good time. 13:05 is a good bet.
That the aim for him 13:05!! Anything more will be a bonus
If Bakken is going to run 13:01 i guess that means cragg will break 13...Bakken isn't better than Cragg! And i don't think he'll blow up, he's as fit as he has ever been. Don't be surprised if he runs low 13s!
Cargg is the real deal but he won't be first Irishman home in Rome. Look for Carroll to lead the way.
13:12.80
He will race well. He is capable of approaching 13-minutes with more experience on the World Level. Much like Craig Mottram, Marius Bakken, Kamile Maase, and Bob Kennedy.
We shall see...
DNS
He is not tired - The Ncaa season was too easy and he wasnt challenged enough - the only tough race he had was against Willis
Rome is not in the USA where there are officials who will do and say anything to keep athletes out of a race, Europe is friendly to ALL athletes, my bet Cragg will run! and run well
I don't wanna be a blasphemer, but I think Cragg will eventually have a faster PR than Goucher, Bakken, and even ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Kennedy.
Cragg talks funny, but girls love it.
13:12 is fast. 13:16 at Stanford was in perfect conditions.
Not saying he would blow up in a fast race but what on earth are you talking about? Of course Craggs never blown up in a race in the USA...there has never been a fast one! Weak willed runners?
That's complete bullshit...if you try to run 13 flat and you arne't capable of it you will blow up whether you are weak willed or the strongest willed person in the world. If he went out at 1240 pace and blew up big time he would be weak willed? please. It's all relative to what you are capable of handaling...after that it's out of your hands.
My guess is that he runs a decent race but I would say 13:21... He will run better by the end of teh season thoughin the 13:10 - 13:15 area.

Not so sure about that. Caroll was quite poor last w'end in Gateshead, very uncompetitive against mottram and co and only ran 8'06! He's clearly not at his best right now after the London Marathon letdown.
I would like Carroll to beat Cragg but i'd say its 60-40 Cragg wins this dual.
Cragg is the real deal but this is a level above what he's used to. I really hope he just goes for it and runs with the leaders for as long as he can, no sitting back, no pussy-footing about and no 'first whitey' attempts. Either 13'02 or 13'30.
BTW - Martin Keino to DNF?
Looks like jimbob was closest.

I will be disappointed if Cragg doesn't break 13:10. High standards, but he convincingly beat a #8 ranked Kenyan who convincingly beat a 13:20's-fit Ritz. Torres ran 13:24 last year and Cragg seems more than a dozen seconds better than Torres was. Everything makes sense for a huge race.
hahaha...er...um, never mind.
That had to be his worst race since SMU days. Does anyone know if he was with the leaders early? I wish him the best, but tonight was a learning experience. For all of you who had him listed as an Olympic medalist, well maybe you want to readjust your predictions. I think that he will be there by '08. He probably can be added to the list of injured athletes!!!!!!!!!
Nice Prediction SomeRunner.
Looks like you were dead WRONG!
I don't think you can really compare the Golden League with the NCAA's etc. Mr Cragg has had a fine few years running against decent college guy's. But he's hardly come up against the finest athletes the world has ever seen on a regualr basis.
13.37 I don't think is fair example of his fitness or talent, but when the race is charging along in 61/2's, when you get dropped, you get dropped big. No doubt he'll see it as a learning experience and run better next time.
He also doesn't need to have to run in all of the NCAA qualifiers (or whatever they are). To run well in Europe you have to focus just on European races. Mr Webb will be a fine example of that this summer - although I think he might have peaked a little too early. Was great to see him win the other week though!
