pull up the regional qualifiers, find your event, and start to find schools with muliple qualifiers in that/those events.
if you are having a D1 experience already, find what you like and don't like about it, and try not to repeat the same "mistake."

When the OP said a "female coach," I assume she meant a coach who was herself female.
BAS has also been doing an outstanding job at Penn State.
I definitely meant coches who female themselves. So as great at Wetmore is he isn't quite what I had in mind.
Rhoda Dick at Morehead State is typically under the radar.

The NOVA coach sucks in T&F. Absolutely no quals. Don't go to NOVA! Big mistake.
Forgot about Kelly Strong at Cal Poly. Probably one of the best in the country. She established herself when she made and created the Washington championship XC teams, then left for some reason.
If you feel you can run and are dedicated, she will take any woman to the next level. Believe me, Kelly is something special..... and Cal Poly overall is a great running school, and more importantly a great institution to obtain a top notch education.
Jennie Ashcroft at Oregon is one of the best. The downside? Oregon is so loaded you probably have to be one of the top five event participants in the country to even receive a phone call.
Ashcroft is NOT a distance coach. She coaches from a clipboard. Oregon needs to get Andy's wife back on staff.
I know you said you can't go to another SEC school, but I agree, Vandy coach Rhonda Riley is gettin' it done there. Great recruiting class this year as well as adding a very fast transfer from Cal.
Taryn Sheehan- Louisville. young coach with great relationship with athletes. very young team right now.
I've been very impressed with Karen Harvey's knowledge. She coaches at Florida State University and there are some great interviews with her on Flotrack.

In a coaching sense a biological female and one who presents themself as female would present similar approaches.
Anyway a female coach like Karen Harvey or Gina. How sure are We that this Louisville and Cal Poly female coaches actually coaches there?
