bump. Sorry, just trying to get as many opinions as possible.

Im a big fan of the whole eccentric loading thing for tendon injuries, the best of which Ive found for the hamstring tendons is running backwards.
I had most of last year utterly destroyed by hamstring tendinitis a first bout lasted 3 months and eventually went away through rest and PT but it came back a few months later. That time I started running backwards for just a couple of minutes at a time and the pain was all gone within a week, it hasn't been back at all in the last 9 months so Im pretty happy with the backwards running, even if it is just a placebo.
Strengthening the hamstring is also a good idea.
hmm interesting, ill definitely try it. Would walking backwards at first help or just the running backwards?
Would backward stairclimbing be an effective eccentric exercise of hamstrings?
it sounds like it would be to me but would need input from others.

I gave it a try carrying two ten-lb dumbbells, doing two steps at a time. It was a challenge to stay balanced. It seems to be similar to squats. I'm not sure about the hamstring component.
hmm idk if i'd like that then. Was worth a try though. I tried these http://www.livestrong.com/video/2753-strengthen-hamstrings/ out and they seem ok but obviously no weight so they are a bit easier.
