Sage Canaday: The guy publicly posts on letsrun. How can you not like that?
Julian Romero: A much-needed rock star in the barefoot running scene.
Michael Wardian: He's just cool, and runs a ton of races. Instantly recognizable.

I need some new guys to pull for. Summary of my favorite runners.
Brian Sell: Like rooting for Danny Woodhead in the NFL, there are a lot of 2:00/4:40/10:00/16:45 types out there so Brian Sell was always a huge motivation because if the stars lined up you could be him.
Ivan Heshko: Ukranian heritage, representing the nation of smash, always looked pretty badass.
Fam: NYC guy
Bob Kennedy: Awesome and there is always a mystique to someone who was the best slightly before your time.
In general I like people who are similar to me. So if ever there is an elite that came from NJ and a small time D1 school they will be my favorite runner of all time.
On the women's side, the more i'd like to screw you the more successful i'd like you to be.
As a result the coverage Serena Burla got in the trials was welcome to me.
I root for the ones who are humble about their accomplishments and yet confident enough to beat the best in their field or at least try/give what they can for that day.
I agree. The ones that are humble, have a commanding presence and a mystique are so much more than 'just runners'.
Bekele!!!!! "Two years away! And Bekele is back! What does this mean for London next year!" "If you don't drop Bekele early this is what happens!"
I like Webb because we're both from VA and graduated the same year. Plus he seems like a decent guy, even if he is a bit of a headcase.
In general, I'm not sure what makes me like some athletes. I rooted obsessively for Charles Barkley and Yevgeny Kafelnikov. I even wrote-in Barkley for president. I think I root for the eccentricity.
If they inspire me or if i can relate to them. Jordan hasay, i have been a fan since i raced against her when she was a freshman. Such a kind and genuine person. Then Lisa kolls story of how she worked her way up by training hard. Anyone who has overcome major obstacles such as eating disorders or family hardship. For the guys i like Ryan hall for being unafraid to share his faith and meb. I also love watching runners like wottle, billy mills etc
