Stanford XC Invite results/streaming/on site reports?

Congrats to Jon Peterson and the rest of the UC Davis Aggies - good day for them on the men's and women's side.

Question: I don't know much about college running. So why did the Stanford coach say "it just made sense for them (the Rosa twins) to run unattached" in that article? Just curious.

If they don't stand a realistic chance of competing in the top seven as freshman, no sense in wasting a year of eligibility. If they are needed in the top seven later in the year they can always "take off the red shirt." Keeping the options open.

In addition to that good and useful reply, they are also better (possibly) at the 1-2 miles. There is no need to cross that redshirt threshold until you need to. They will know by Pac-10(+2) time if they want to have at least one of them run in the last three meets. They may decide to do so if they want depth at Regionals so they can rest as many of the top guys as possible, although they probably do not need to worry about that....

Congrats to the LMU men on their 5th place finish. That's a big step up for the growing program!
