BAALA just literally got his ass kicked

I don't see how you can call this "pathetic." 2 guys had some differences so they chose to settle things in a physical manner. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Not disgraceful at all.

I saw a similar incident in the 2001 Brussels Grand Prix 3km steeple. I remember some Italian or Spanish guy had a problem with a North African fellow and some shoe-throwing and pushing took place after the race. It was largely ignored because Brahim Boulami had just broken the World Record.

Don't kid yourself, these guys would have kicked any American milers ass. North African vs. white dude, white dude runnin.

Baala didn't "literally" get his ass kicked. I didn't see any foot-to-ass contact of any manner. Mostly punches that didn't actually connect.

Also, I don't think he got his ass kicked in the figurative sense either. Baala is the only one who actually landed anything (a headbutt followed immediately by a right cross to the jaw). Granted, those hits looked a little weak. If you land a well placed headbutt and right cross combo on a dude who probably doesn't even weigh 120 lbs, and he appears unfazed by the attack, your ass is weak. On the other hand, the other guy just swung wildly and didn't really connect anything. Baala stayed on his feet and continued to taunt after they were separated. He was fine. No real ass kicking involved. Have any of you guys actually seen a real fight?

exactly what I thought. And even if the OP meant it in the non-literal sense then he's still wrong.

I think its impressive they had the energy to throw any punches even if they were weak after 3:34/3:35. I've probably got about 40 pounds on them but if we were fighting after an all out 15 I'd be toast.

I'd much prefer to be a 4:30 miler who can punch straight than these queer follows any day.

Yeah, great choice to be mediocre at everything. Both these guys have Olympic medals, but you'd rather be a 4:30 miler that can beat up a distance runner, but would still get beaten by anyone really tough.

Baala kept moving away. The other guy kept pushing into him and then butted his head when Baala was turning to leave. Baala looked at him and butted him back, granted more forcefully, but note the other guy was also constantly pushing into him. I see no problem with Baala defending himself. The other guy was totally the aggressor and the fault was completely with him.

After the head butts, Baala moved away again, also as the other guy was swinging and trying to hit him. I'm impressed with how agile Baala was in avoiding every one of the swings. He reminded me of Caine in the kung fu movies.

"The other guy" ran 8'02, with a 2'02 last 800m two weeks ago. Even if you think he is weak, Mekhissi would would destroy any american runner either on steeplechase or in a real fight.
