Private coaches are great so long as you don't do 'online" options.
The best private coach will be the one who meets with you face-to-face once or twice per week - actually answering your questions as they arise and visibly seeing you run, progress and never leaving you without a plan until your next meeting, modifying as per your conversations during warmup and cooldown. Listening to your thoughts.
Even better is finding one who can actually "train" alongside you while they supervize a workout (a la Bruce Denton-style). A lot of elite runners will do this for the slower population after they retire because they can talk you through the difficult portions totally in an aerobic state while you are sucking wind. Price about $125. Now that's a deal.
Forget these online scam artists posing as coaches. They're stealing your money.
