Sounds to me like you've been listening to McCain's radio ads.
And while the intent of the law is to keep out illegals, the practice of the law will end up impacting everyone. Typically, the Supreme Court has looked down upon this, insisting instead upon a "least restrictive alternative." Laws need to be evaluated both on their face and on their impact. Furthermore, "reasonable suspicion" is way too low of a standard IMO. Of course, with the current Supreme Court, I can only imagine how they would rule.
