Amy Yoder Begley ran about 8:53 last weekend to become the world leader. Malindi Elmore was 2nd in 8:57. You'd have thought that another 8:57 by a masters runner would generate some interest.
That's a great run. Anyone know where it was done?
Maybe the poster will fill us in on some of that info.

...original pace was supposed to be around '3km pace max, 5km min'. I have never done 6 x 800 off 3mins (only 2mins) so had no idea, but my current main training partner was told to aim for 2:12s. I felt that was pretty quick considering where training had been for me (good strength, but nothing that long or quick...i had done 16 x 400 in 67ish a while back, but a big difference with 800s for me). In the end we began in 2:16ish, then 2:14s and then brought it down (to as low as 2:12 something I think for one...but mostly 2:13s for the last 3)....I haven't done 800s for eons so had no real idea except by feel....
