I found a publicity photo from their recent tour when they performed at Duke - no Frank in the picture. Is Christopher Taylor their permanent pianist? Hewitt obviously was the guest performing Bach (always enjoy a Bach concerto).

Isn't based on story written by pedophile?
(ya, it's sarcasm)
- It worries me that its being done with Disney... I mean lets be honest Disney has certain interests in making movies marketable and definitely not controversial these are two qualities which will hamstring and truly creative interpretation of the book. For instance, now that they have bought Marvel I guarantee the next Marvel movie release will be complete trash... can you imagine Disney green lighting the Dark Knight? Not likely it would "sully" their reputation with all the hypochondriac parents out there.
Well, it may be redeemed in that it's not the original story; it's being billed as a sequel. Here's an excerpt from an LA Times interview with the Alice actress:
GB: The film is called "Alice in Wonderland," but really this is neither a pure adaptation of Lewis Carroll's writings nor a remake of previous films. This is a whole new story, correct?
MW: It's a completely different and new story, but it has a lot of the same characters in it. It has the same feel of the original stories, but it's really fun to explore a story that goes further and imagines what all these characters would be like several years down the tracks. Alice doesn't have a recollection of her first visit there. She's gone back and is discovering this world and finding herself again in this place that she doesn't even remember.
At least it's not a remake of the X-rated musical version;)

I'm also hoping for a great Elfman score too!

Hysterical. Read that one on my Kindle last week.
The last bit about Mickey finally hitting rock bottom and running into the church desperate for redemption after acting like a fool was just precious.
No shortage of horrified female parishioners with vermin like that around, eh?
Is that the same kind of vermin you find at some restaurants?
My Kindle apparently arrived yesterday but haven't had time to retrieve it from the doorman and play with it yet. Tonight. Just in time for some in-flight and on-vacation reading next week.
Ah, enjoy your Kindle nsmb, and your travels. I'm already contemplating what to load on mine for a long flight to a Dublin work conference in a few months. J. Joyce for sure, but something more contemporary would be fun as well. I'll need to do a little research.
We had planned to spend the winter break this week skiing, eating eclectic Canadian food, and drinking with real Canadians in B.C. when the Olympics open up, but due to the cat's rapidly declining condition, we opted to stay home with the poor little fur ball. Doesn't look like she'll make it through the weekend at this rate, and we didn't feel right sending her to the kennel in such sorry shape.
BTW, to get this thread back on track (I know Mrs. M has a thing about hijackers), are you familiar with Burton's Corpse Bride story? An ex of mine used to say the character of Emily reminded him of me, which creeped me out a bit. It's been years since I've seen the flick. Do you know the story? See any resemblance?
I remember that flick being in the theaters; didn't see it. But you were lookin' definitively alive last I checked.
Sorry to hear about the cat. That's always tough.
