All discussions about electric bass players should read "who is the 2nd best bassist ever". Anyone who ever heard Jaco knows there's no question about #1.

Its obvious my brother, Geddy is the best bass player of all time.
I'll give that Flecktones fans are giant tools and have a terrible superiority complex, but Wooten is so much better than Claypool it really isn't fair.
First off, pretty much impossible to answer this question due to it's based off of opinion. But I will at least state my favorites.
1. Jaco Pastorius - I don't believe anyone has had as much impact on the role of the bass guitar as this guy. Innovative, precise, and creative. Too bad he was a bit of a nut job.
2. Victor Wooten - Technically speaking, I don't know if anybody can compare to his abilities. Musically though, he comes off sometimes as a bit much to handle and it incomprehensible.
3. This guy.

He's one of the greatest musicians I've had the pleasure to see in person, at least on the jazz side. Absolutely amazing.
His early death was tragic.
Does Charlie Daniels play a mean fiddle?
Geddy Lee is not a bad bass player for a gerbil on speed.
The spirit of radio freaking rocks. Listen to that Bass line and tell me that again

Well, he would kick everyone else's ass anyway. Especially gay-ass Geddy Lee.
Geddy Lee is unquestionably the best. Claypool played a bunch of technically tough things that turned the music into a mess. Rush songs had the bass carry the songs without it sounding like an annoying bass solo. Limelight, Spirit of Radio, Subdivisions, the list goes on. There are still fantastic lead guitar riffs and drums in the songs, but the bass lines quietly complement the song in an understated way. No one wants to hear the bass out front. All those clips of bass solos miss the point. Who cares about a bass solo? Geddy Lee-without peer.
Okay, so Geddy Lee is the best if you hate bass guitars.
Those of us who like the instrument know that many other bass players run circles around Gay-dee Lee
I heard Geddy Lee was foucused on the 1500m and won't stop until he breaks 4:00.

You are unquestionably a musical neophyte.

since this fact is being questioned all over this thread you might want to rethink the definition of "unquestionably".
