I didn't run on the 1st Jan 2010, but on 2nd Jan here in New Zealand I went for a 25km run. Hot day so waited until later in the afternoon.
Started out ok but stomach a little unsettled, but that isn't usually a problem. Did a couple of laps of the park and headed out on the first of 2x 9km loops over some hills. Came down the first major hill and stomach still not feeling good. Going up the next hill I felt the need to pass wind but was a little worried that it might not be purely gaseous.
Sure enough as got to the top of the hill there was a sound that must have been heard across the street... that's not good I thought, but a long way to the next toilet. Spent the rest of that 9km loop clenching my butt in the hope that anything liquid might not travel too far...
I made it back to the toilets and things weren't anywhere near as bad as I thought... quick clean up and the next 9km loop was considerably more comfortable even it my knees were a bit sore on the downhill parts.
Note to self... on night before upcoming 25km race don't drink beer.

7 miles at a 7:30 pace
26 km in 1:50 (slow) yesterday. In Denmark it's cold and snowy too but got 28 km in two runs today anyway - a good start of the year :)
Just shy of 16 @ 6:30. Beautiful winter weather, about 30 and not too windy.
I haven't run made my first run of the new decade. That won't happen until January 1st, 2011. Moron!!!!!

7.5 mile race on a hilly road course in 43:44. Solid effort, felt decent, but I now realize just how far out of shape I am. That would have been a moderate tempo run just a couple of years ago, and now its a 98% effort.

4 miles easy. Ran a New Years Eve race the day before.

Ran around 8 miles easy on Comm. Ave. It was in the high 30's, which felt hot. Some hard pickups today if the road will allow for it.
33 miles; it should have been 30, but I got a little lost......oh well.
13, easy, trying to recover for a Saturday workout. Almost one month into a come back, everything is still harder than it should be.
Ran 4 miles--first pain free run I have had in about 8 years. So 2010 is off to a pretty good start.
