1 hr to go; we should have a handful of solid competitors, barring anyone wimping out. The overall size of the field is TBD and will be a solid test of the abiliy of letsrun to pull people out of the woodwork to compete in stupid races.
Will post results imediately following via phone.....
Don't leave us hanging for too long...thousands are waiting for the results!!!
YAY! I was one of the people that came out of the woodwork and had an absolute blast! Thanks for the amazingly fun race. Just got home...Drew has a donut/drunk thing happening...gut feels like I ate a rock...
Will you have a link to the video?
Can't wait for tomorrow's run--the donut hangover 10!
Alright.....the overall winner was Ofer Barniv (Kent State Alum) in 10:18. We all discovered that eating donuts is not necessarily a fast process. Full results in a few minutes......
Considering the depth of snow on the track this morning I have to say I was pretty happy with the turnout. As far as food challenge races go it was a fairly strong field, with one 4 minute miler, a solid HS runner, and three former Denver Colfax Marathon champions. Also, to my suprise, letsrun does get to the masses; we had 2 extras come out of nowhere to strengthen the competition. While many, including myself, started out at a good clip, the true heroes separated themselves once we got around to the 2nd and 3rd donut. Eating sa fast donut proved to be much more difficult than expected, and quite frankly, there were moments when I was wishin we had planned a beer mile instead. Overall, it was a good fun holiday event. Here are the results:
1.) Ofer Barniv (Denver) - 10:18
2.) Drew Rytner (Morrison) - 10:43
3.) Matt Kempton (Aurora) - 12:10
4.) Steve Walker (Denver) - 12:48
5.) Justin Mock (Arvada) - 13:35
6.) Michael McGurk (Lakewood) - 14:27
7.) Karen Kantor (Morrison) - 14:30
8.) Tipp Moseley (San Fransisco) - 22:35
Reportedly results from Western NY and Peru may be coming in over the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned.
McGurk
My bad, the wife just pointed out a typo. It was Drew Ryther who finished 2nd to Ofer. Once again, nice job to all.......
Hopefully Tipp didn't get a comped entry to fly in from SF. Pathetic. Props to the Ofer!
I used to know Jesse Mang a long time ago and I am trying to get in contact with him. Do you know how I can contact him? I'm from Buffalo, but I'm Denver now. Thank you.
