My ex-wife has a few family members who are classic lame gift-givers at Christmas.
One year, her Aunt gave me a fairly large blue sponge. Another year, that same Aunt gave me a redwood tree sapling. One of the ex's sisters also gave my kids coupons for Christmas one year too.
I would have prayed for even a Snuggie when we saw them at Christmas time.
I got a winter coat with the arms missing. Some would call it a vest. I'll trade you for your snuggie.
My school librarian has an unopened generic snuggie box next to her desk. I kind of want it.

Our extended family has a gift exchange with a $5 limit. Everyone gets a number/highest number goes last. You can "steal" a better gift from someone that went before you and they get another pick. Highest number basically gets their choice of any gift. Anyway, my mom got a "cuddly" (snuggie knockoff) that cost $5!!
Worst gift I ever got was a pair of Romper Stompers. I was about 9 years old!!!
This year I got a boat-load of money, I HATE getting money...it'll probably all just go to Pot
I also got a snuggie, and I'm 45 years old. I also got a 1-liter bottle of Crown, so I won't care what you say about me in my snuggie.
The worst gift I ever heard of was a girl who got underwear, bought at a garage sale, from her mother-in-law.
Our family did the gift exchange thing years ago too.
I was 10-12 years of age when I opened my gift from Aunt Agatha, to find what was clearly a girls "nighty". Repleate with ribbons and bows on plush flannel, I was sure it had to be meant for one of my sisters. My male cousin's were merciless in their teasing. I was mortified. The humor of the issue still surfaces some 4 decades later.

I got 500 dollars in one dollar bills. Seriously, how the hell I'm I going to be able to turn that into 25 20's?
I was happy about the amount, but this is gonna mean walking around with a backpack packed full of ones to several different banks, so I don't piss off the tellers.

Got a crappy little digital camera from my aunt and uncle. Of course they mean well, but I just hope they didn't spend more than 30 dollars on the thing as I'll probably never take another picture with it (I snapped a few just to feign interest when I got it). I've already got a nice point and shoot, and am going to be buying a Nikon D90 in a month or two. I suppose I could give it to somebody who doesn't need or want anything fancy. I was thinking I could keep it in my car for spontaneous use, but then I realized my phone probably takes pictures of similar quality.

once my dad got us a nice dinner for christmas. i stopped asking for gifts when he lost his job and would just pray for something to eat. I suppose the worst christmas i had was when we all had to share a loaf of bread.

That is funny because it is so true. We had an Oregon Track Club vest that resurfaces every year at our team white elephant gift exchange. It is considered a bigger joke than the Chia pet.
