AJ likes to think he's still #1 in the hearts of 15-year-old DyeStat kiddies. I guess that stuff never gets old.

When will people quit assuming that the number one high school runner for every single year is a bust if he isn't the number one college runner after 2 seasons.
Since about 1997 nearly every year there has been a runner who has gone 4:04 and sub 8:50. That means since Ritz and Teg have gone sub 13:00 there should be at least 10 others according to this logic.
For every top runner there will be 3-5 who were more talented but either didn't train as hard in high school or didn't mature as early. A lot of times they catch the high school star after a couple of years in college.
And whoever started this thread is either being sarcastic or a complete moron not to know he's been a top runner for one of the top teams in the nation. All it takes is a glance at some meet results such as the NCAA indoor and Outdoor championships and the Olympic Trials.
People in Ohio sometimes knock Jeff See because he ran 4:04 in High School and Rob Meyer only ran 4:10. See is one of the top milers in the country and has won several Big Ten titles and just missed making the finals of the Olympic Trials. But since he hasn't won national titles yet clueless idiots call him a bust.
3 things about AJ:
1) He was really good in HS not only because he was talented, but because he had a coach that worked with him both physically and mentally. Tom Kloos knew what he was doing and I don't think Vin does (as far as coaching AJ is concerned).
2) Despite being a clown, AJ is really smart. He should have gone to Stanford. Classes are probably so boring for that kid he probably doesn't need to study or work for any sort of decent grade. That's a problem because it leaves a lot of time for partying.
3) He parties too much
Would have been interesting to see his development had he gone to Stanford. Probably would have had similar track times, but I bet would have been a better cross runner. He seems lost at Oregon.

Because the kid is a tool who thinks everyone loves him. If being loud and obnoxious were a track event he'd be the greatest ever.
What ever happened to Victor Gras? I see him post on flotrack occasionally...
