Coached hs xc for 14 years and had 3 state champ boys teams. If I gave essentially the same w/o the same day 4 weeks in a row I would expect to be shot in the head. Inversely I would have shot my coach in the head during my competitive days. That work is a prep phase w/o not a put the finishing touches on things w/o. Try taking the LT day the race pace day and combine them as such 3x800 at LT then a extended jog then a 1k or 1.2k at slightly faster than 5k pace. Kids will be popping at the end of this one.
The same thing the same day 4 weeks in a row is a recipe for stale bread.
