Haverford has a talented incoming class... they should be good for years to come.

its because distance runners are smart a yale study has come up with the average D1 xc runner in 2004 their average sat scores were 1453, and average gpa 4.31
Distance runners are smart but those numbers make no sense and I am pretty sure you just made them up.
There are a number of schools that are able to do well in running despite being expensive and having high admittance requirements i.e. CMU Haverford and Williams
bumpady bump bump
Didn't O'toole take a year/semester off? He might have eligibility. Anyway, Allegheny, Dickinson, CMU and Haverford probably make up the best region in the country. They're all legit top-10 teams nationally. Should be exciting in November.
Personally, as long as Penn State Behrend falls out of the top 20 in both races...or better yet doesn't even field full teams, I'll be happy.

I'm pretty certain O'Toole has graduated.
finishing outside of the top 20 in a field of 45 teams is not the end of the world! Not overly impressing anyone, but if you took out all of those teams places 1-10 would not seem as significant. Plenty of solid teams in the 15-25 range that work hard!
I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you on that one. If you are in the 15-25 range in the Div III Mideast region you are not a "solid team". I would say you are not even solid in your own region. If you take those teams and put them in with all the Div I, Div II, Div III, and NAIA teams out there, they would be pretty far down the list. Far from "solid". But sure... they probably work hard for the most part.

How does CMU get such good runners? The school is very expensive for DIII and much, much more academic based than many other schools. I would think they would have a hard time finding hs runners who meet their academic criteria to get admitted. Yet they've made NCAAs for 4yrs now?
I think you answered your own question. They are talented runners and smart. End of story. As for cost, all the small liberal arts schools that make up much of DIII are expensive. The only DIII schools that are cheap are the WIAC and SUNY schools. Which raise the age old question, how is that fair when it comes to recruiting?
Next question: What happened to Penetar?
On the mens side, Dickinson has everyone back including a track AA who didn't run xc regionals last year. They should be loaded. Downside of Dickinson is that they fade with track. Some say its the coach running them into the ground.
The Haverford army should take Centennials this year. They're looking for revenge. Dickinson beat them 3 times last year, something never done before. Downside is Haverford tends to be weak mentally and Donnelly only has so many regional coach of the year awards that he can throw into rivers and lakes.
Allegheny and CMU have the best coaches in the region who always have their teams running tough at regionals. Western PA may rule the mideast. Downside will be the long commute to regionals.
Outside chance for Etown. Straub usually has his boys running good at regionals.
For the women, it should be the Hopkins Show again. They have depth, but won't be good enough on the national scene.
After that the second, and last slot will be between Etown and Messiah. Etown may have the best women's coach in the region. But, the mideast really screwed up last year's nationals, and there's no signs of it getting stronger. Like Moravian from the 90s, the Dickinson glory years are over. The mideast is the worst region in the country, now behind the South.
Sorry boys but this is a D1 only site
who is CMU returning? i didn't think they had anyone after harvey graduated
Men - Haverford will once again find a way to contend for the regional title, even if they are the 3rd best team. I do think this region gets 5 teams to nationals this year, and they always reprsent very well at nationals.
Women - JHU should not have a problem. Paulsen returns and had the fastest time in the nation for 5k in outdoors at 16:50. Then Dickinson who will be very strong and Messiah, Kooser is still around right?
D3 is simply not for me!!!!!!!!D2 F### u too!!!! NAIA: no fiiiiin way D1 you're the one, u are the reason y I run, without u there is no sun.
rumor has it that he transfered to temple
wow, this thread has been ruined by a lot of unoriginal idiocy.
Kooser has graduated, I believe she is attending graduate school but I'm not all that sure.
I watched that girl from LVC, Cronan or something, run a few races this spring. Looks like she is a lot better then she was last year and could be a darkhorse for the title at the Regional meet.
