Rather strange that no one from the meet or her camp made a statement about her absence, not even flotrack who were at the meet.
some of the women who started had to share a lane. if it was known in advance that vessey would not start, wouldn't the clerk have reassigned the lanes?

Vessey suffered an ankle injury yesterday and played it safe today. Jesus, you people can be so callous at times.
Bad time to get an ankle injury, besides running too fast in the flotrack session.
She has no camp :-)
Honestly, I am a big Flotrack fan, but considering all of the videos they did with Vessey this week....and even Ryan's video walking around the venue today....it's hard to believe they didn't report on her absence. Is this journalism or just show business?
Its a sad affair when the lone USA representative at Worlds for 800 who was actually in this race comes in DFL and behind two other Americans not running the event at Worlds.

Video on this race?
from ryan on the flotrack coverage page (http://www.flotrack.org/videos/coverage/view/235251-2009-meeting-areva-paris-saint-denis)
"hey all, maggie is doing alright. she tweaked a hammy doing strides in warmups. hopefully things will be cool and she'll be out there next week. we'll keep you posted."

Why is that funny, exactly? We'll never have to worry about you missing a scheduled race in Europe, that's for sure.

I really, really, really hope that she did not tweak that hamstring doing those dance/plyo moves for Ryan on that previous video...

and the 3 times 200 at her 400 pace

Do you even know what you are talking about?
There is no correlation.
I could run 4-6 by 200 at -23.5 pace, and never ran a 46 400. (And this was with 36.5 seconds rest, give or take.)
Those formulas you read are really more like loose guidelines, they do not apply to everyone.
And, uhm, like she did not look all that tired after that workout.

Has Flotrack ever asked a tough question? There role seems to be to kiss the top athletes ass, ask them softball questions, and get to hang out with them more. The Vessey interview had Ray Flynn's logo on it so maybe it's more promotion than anything else.
