I agree with the Sportscenter host. Track is a very boring sport, I would rather watch shows in syndication such as Everybody Loves Raymond rather than watch track on tv. Like you see the sprints, sure when they are actually running it is exciting, but there is the whole lead up to it and it's like change the station.
The point is, they are hurting themselves ... saying a sport that they themselves telecast is boring. Hypocrisy
Has anyone else noticed that SC is getting really gimmicky lately? Between all the stupid athlete twitter updates and meaningless polls, etc., SC has gone way downhill and it is more about celebrity status and such. "Tom Brady was spotted last night twittering at such and such..." It is getting a bit ridiculous.
I am sensing a gap in the market here. It would be great if there were another channel devoted strictly to highlights around the clock. It could be a half hour show even. Just the highlights, no need for witty banter and fluff. I would love a hardcore sports highlight channel and I bet others would too, since SC has become so watered down.

Not if you're from the UK. Actually, putting the period outside of the quotation marks makes much more sense when you consider the fact that the way you punctuate a sentence might not correspond to the way the original material was punctuated. They are a joke. Hack journalist that couldn't make it in the real industry so they had to settle for the sport's world version of Entertainment Tonight.
I feel sad for them. They're nothing but glorified groupies.

The fact they are showing more UFC/poker, etc. than t&f is because more people are clamoring for it. If a critical mass of people clamored for t&f (which will never happen), they will show more of it.

No, because I don't watch it anymore. I actually watch very little of espn anymore. I just don't have much interest in what they are showing. Someone mentioned just a half hour all sports show. That is exactly what George Michael did in the 80s.

The period is correct as is.
ESPN does suck. Come on, when the play of the day is a baseball player making a catch that's just stupid- it's what they're paid to do.
The bottom line is- they don't understand sports and have no respect for all sports.
I can't play baseball, I think it's boring, but I respect the ability of the people who can play.
ESPN has to appeal to the ignorant American sports fan who is afraid of something different- unless it's curling because any out of shape, couch potato can do that.
