I managed to stay pretty much on pace through 14, but 15 and 16 were brutal. I dropped out and rode the bus back. At least I was in good company--several Russians and Kenyans were on the bus too.

I knew for sure that Christopher Raabe would be a great marathoner ever since I saw him take a dump running full speed in that CKY video.

Chalk another one up for murphy's Law. After a protracted cold spring and early summer, Duluth gets visited with a day that can fairly be described as blistering by local standards.
Raabe ran superbly and finshed with his head up. If there was deal making going on, then some of the Kenyans deserve an Oscar for faking a stressed out finish.
I ran the half,and thus got to watch the Marathon finish.It felt plenty warm just standing in the shade.
Med tents visits and ambulance runs were the highest ever for this race.
