LaSalle has two freshmen coming in who just ran a 9:09 and a 9:12 in the NJ state championships.
Don't forget LaSalle has Quigley, Joe Dare, John Butler and David Alfano coming back for their last season of eligibiliy. They have the only coaching staff anf compliance office in the nation that gets a 7th or 8th year for athletes.
we also have a sub 9:10 high schooler from maryland joining those 2. ha ha.
Look for Temple to shock some people this year. Matt Jelley has quietly built a hell of a program over there. Should they stay healthy, the Owls will have 5 men capable of placing in the top 35. that would certainly displace the (probably) critically accepted top four of la salle/umass/saint joe's/richmond.
it's almost impossible to make predictions this early. i know a few seniors who are returning for a fifth year who will certainly be all-conference contenders - but i'm sure there are a few i don't know of, as well. and i consider myself an "insider". most predictions this early will inevitably have major holes and be backed up by little to no logic. still though.
1. la salle
2. st. joe's
3. temple
4. umass
5. dayton
6. richmond
7. xavier
8. fordham
maybe that's just who i'm cheering for, though.
Dayton 5th with 2 NCAA qualifiers and Anderson back? Keep smoking it budy.
I find it funny that you have Charlotte outside the top 8 with the A-10 Champ returning and a boatload of freshmen that are as good as any in the conference.
just give up those lasalle boys are training while you all are talking. we walk away with it all again this year.
seriously, lasalle has sean quigley, joe dare, john butler and david alfano back? i thought those guys graduated years ago? next thing st joes will have meyers running too.

What national xc qualifier was left off?
Kyle Murray - SJU
I have to say, for a school that had no XC team until 2005, Temple has done some impressive building of their distance team. That being said, they will not place 3rd and have 5 in the top 35.
Is Korey Edwards still running this fall? He was listed as Soph, Junior and Senior in the past 3 A10 Champs, but I know he didnt run at it his Freshman year. I dont know if he ran in other races that season, or not though.
Guarantee LaSalle has Edwards back. They will likely get a 6th year for Papin.
You forgot Duquesne you jackass.

Any thoughts on the women's side of the competition?

Richmond all the way with 2 in the top 4. Charlotte 2nd, probably with 2 in the top 4 as well.
Is this the year the Richmond men finally put it all together. You know Benford and Llano are going to be gunning for it as seniors who have been so close, so many times. They had 2 frosh last year that ran great at the World Junior Mountain Running Championships, but then were just so-so at A10s. Maybe without running a major Mountain Running Championship race early in the season will help these 2 along.
