There is a run scheduled for 6:30pm at Fleet Feet Sports in Louisville, KY. I will be there.
On the road away from home today - I need a few tempo miles and then will run easy and long on the Oregon coast.
The Clark County Running Club (Vancouver, WA) will have their evening 5k run tonight at 7pm PST at David Douglas Park. Non members pay $2 for entry.
This is National Running Day! Take advantage of the community runs in your area and have fun!

I suspect nobody will read this, but I'm going to brag anyway. Our little town just 8 miles south of Eugene (which did nothing to celebrate NRD) of 4500 people had runners and walkers out on the track and trail from 4:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. (Sixteen Hour Challenge). Nearly every kid in our town ran alongside adults who were there to help people understand that running is fun. We are still adding the numbers but we accumulated well over 3000 people-miles. Many grade schoolers ran over 5 miles and loved it. Several ran 9+. One little fourth grader challenged me to a mile race - he had already run 6 miles - he hit the finish at 6:36 (he beat me by a stride and won the coveted cotton t-shirt he wanted badly.) Today, the day after NRD, the grade school principal called me and said that she has 200 kids that want to know when "those guys are going to run with them again". Success.
Great results - way to engage the community and stimulate interest in running!
