Mrr82,
Wow, swing on Wariner's nuts much?
There were plenty of posters on here criticizing Hart who had the position HE should make the concessions in this dispute because he was ONLY the coach and Wariner was THE ATHLETE! Wariner was another very good recruit when he signed with Baylor out of high school, but Hart made him great. There should have been some loyalty and common sense there that couldn't be swayed by 5% of any number. As far as Ford, it was the ultimate back stabbing move on his mentor. The loyal thing to do, would have been to say no to Wariner because not only was Hart his college coach that probably taught him the majority of what he knows about sprint training at an elite level, but because he was also the one that hand picked him seven years ago to come onto the Baylor staff to possibly be THE ONE that replaces him when he steps out of the college coaching world. Instead, Ford facilitates the betrayal, AND he fails. Nice. The guy not only looks like an idiot, he proves himself to be one. They both got what they deserved, but hey Wariner saved 5%...whatever.
Plenty as in a few. Most people were wariner bashing, especially after he lost, and lost again. I'm stating the facts. Why do you go learn something that doesn't involve ridiculously overstating something that doesn't exist.
Here's one of the first threads..admist several crap posts, many are bashing Wariner, some are bashing neither, and a few are saying Hart isn't that great, but NONE say he was being greedy (several did say Wariner was however). Obviously there were other threads, but the point is the majority were coming down on Wariner, or neutral. Get a life
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=2333696&page=3And there is nothing that makes Ford an idiot out of this. If everyone athlete who had a breakthrough year, then left their coach the next year when they failed to do better and did worse....no one would have a coach. I would not be surprised if Wariner was given a push to go back to Hart. We already know MJ encouraged it, and i'm sure Addidas encourged it as he's their prized track athlete and they only have their interests at heart. There is always more to a story than what you see.
And let's see....Ford is still baylors coach, and admittingly will be Wariners coach when Hart retires. That's what i got out of that article...so how does that make Ford the idiot? What did he lose out of all of this? He only gained some extra money, and is in the same position he was before....that makes you an idiot?
On a side note, is Ford still coaching Williamson, Witherspoon and Ayre?
