I thought Arne was a good governor, basic middle of the road guy that did the work. Something that's in pretty short supply nowadays.

true story, before he became a politician jesse ventura was a professional wrestler, he was part of a tag team called the east-west connection with adrian adonis, the tag team had an article on their real life the article was titled (ventura and adonis living the good life as bad guys).

I haven't read much of this thread yet and I don't know what Jesse V. has said or done lately, but whenever I've seen him speak, he always makes a lot of sense to me. He's probably the one politician that I agree with above all others.

Probably because he makes stuff sound simpler than it is which makes you think "Oh this guy knows what he's talking about."

in fairness you should not hold it against a person if they were not allowed to join the military. i am a sensitive about this as i tried to join all of the military marines, air force, army, navy, coast guard, and i was not allowed to join any of them because i had been in a mental hospital when i was 15/16 years old. i had been diagnosed with a chemical imbalance in the brain at age 4 and the recruiters said even if i had not been in a mental hospital just the diagnosis of a mental illness and taking medication for it would have disqualified me from joining.

who really knows maybe hannity and obama had a history of mental illness or problems, or a physical disability that would not allow them to join, my psychologist told me he tried to join, but one of his legs was shorter than the other so they would not let him in. and he does not appear to be handicapped, i had heard bill rodgers has one leg shorter than the other so i guess he cant join the military, but he was the a great marathoner.

instead of blaming the individual (in this case hannity and obama) for not being allowed to join, i would blame the military policicy that does not allow them to join.

Unless you can show me that Obama or Hannity actually attempted to serve, but was turned down for some reason...I don't think your argument is valid.

Why wouldn't be scared of a former pro wrestler? He wasn't afraid of him because of some great wisdom that Ventura stumped Hannity with.

No Ventura didn't "brainschool" Hannity. Hannity fired back after Ventura's statement that the White House recieved notice that Bin Laden had planned an attack in the US a month before it happened. Hannity eloquently pointed out that Clinton turned down 5 opportunities to catch Bin Laden while Clinton was president.

Obama was probably in 4th or 5th grade when the Vietnam war ended. At least Obama went to college. Can't say the same for Hannity or Limbaugh. Not sure how they avoided the draft. Limbaugh is said to have had some kind of boil on his rear that got him out. Hannity is/was probably homosexual.

I think Limbaugh and Hannity both went to college but dropped out. Big freakin' deal.

So, can only people who served in the military comment these days? Are they the only ones that should be listened to?

Then you will need to ignore Obama, Pelosi and probably 90% of the members of Congress.

People discount Bush's service, but learning to flight a fighter jet is not a simple task.

Just to note:

Hannity was born in 1961. So he was 14 or so when Vietnam ended. The draft was over before he turned 18.

A. I guess we have massively different opinions on the word "eloquent"B. Hannity lied, there is zero substance to those right wing talking points, so eloquent or not it is still a falsehood. In addition even if clinton had missed those opps it does not excuse the enormous failures that happened during the spring and summer of 2001.

When someone is so pro-waterboarding as Sean Hannity or Dick Cheney, it does help if they (at minimum) served in any military.

In regard to whether or not Clinton passed up a chance to get bin Laden, this is from Factcheck.org:
