Todd Williams finished 9th (I think) in 1995 and said that it was the single best result of his career. Even with the addition Qataris, Barhainis, Ugandans and Eritreans, I still think Rupp should aim for a similar finish.

Agreed. I think he would easily go top 20...even 10th...maybe win it? haha ok im kidding myself there

Would never happen. The XC course in Jordan is not Rupp Certified.
Fixed.
Karl Keska was not working with Alberto Salazar when he finished in the top 20 at World Cross in 2000 and top 10 at the Sydney Olympics. Karl's career disappeared about the time he started working with Alberto.

And your passive aggressive point is?

Geb is a marathoner now....Geb in his teens and 20's ran many world xc against Tergat and the Kenyans.
Rupp is 21-22 and has not even run one....big wuss.......
You are a genius. Geb ran once as a senior and finished 4th. Never ran again. Bitch slap.

You are a genius. Geb ran four times as a senior from 1993-1996, finishing 7th, 3rd, 4th and 5th. Bitch slap.
http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/biographies/letter=0/athcode=8774/index.htmlRupp is almost 23 now, not "21-22".
Doesn't 22 count as "almost 23"?
Hahaha, yes, it does.
i might add his two junior races where he finished 2nd and 8th.
i forgot that one race in 2005.......
but this indicates again he is a likely wuss...he finishes 20th a world jr champs in 2005.....he gets demolished and never goes back...instead he wants to avoid competition and triples at indoor ncaa...
.....like rojo said the course is rupp certified he should have gone...but too much fear of getting pummeled.....
congrats to current USA World Cross team members way to go!

which were those?
seriously 0/10
you and I both know that rupp and salazar are well planned individuals and have their priorities straight. the junior race is a window, once you're too old you're out. senior race is there for at least a decade if not 15 years for some people. rupp has at least 10 more years (and his best years) to go run world cross at the senior level. however just like junior cross he is doing what he can now before the time is up on his NCAA career.
with the olympic finals, an ncaa x-c team and individual title, 3 ncaa indoor titles plus that team title, multiple upcoming outdoor ncaa titles to run for and that team title, and the us & world championships coming up this summer it's pretty redic to think he would even consider going to jordan.
next year however might be a great time to do it.
In 3-10 years rupp will win world xc...easily
GO RUPP
I don't think World XC has ever been EASILY won, even for world record holder Bekele.
My prediction would be about 20th. 15th would be good. 10th would be surprising. 25th would be fair. 30th would be disappointing.
I have to wonder if much of the "Rupp's a wimp" stuff comes from him being geeky and having a high-pitched voice. If you don't like geeky kids with high voices, you picked the wrong sport.
I know most of the haters are just being trolls at this point but just in case anyone's dumb enough to be serious: If you hated on him for being effectively professional and violating the spirit of college athletics, why are you hating on him now for focusing on NCAA's instead of a race for professionals?
If Rupp were E. African, he'd still be a teenager / junior based on their calendar system. So he'd probably win the junior race or at worst be second to the guy that won today, who is no doubt older than Rupp.

You'd have to clear it with Nike World HQ in Beijing first
Last time I checked, Nike World HQ was in Beaverton, OR.
