800- On paper, O'brien should dominate this event, as long as Kosgei isn't in the picture. Watch for Aron Kehoe from UW-Whitewater who was the top freshman in the country last yr, running 1:52 indoors.
1. O'brien (Ohio Northern)
2. Kosgei (Hamilton)
3. Kehoe (UW-Whitewater)
Mile- Kosgei will run 4:05 or better if pushed. Chaffee from Williams is the top returner in the 1500 w/a 3:47. Wager from Cortland, who has excellent 800m speed, should be up there as well.
1. Kosgei (Hamilton)
2. Chaffee (Williams)
3. Wager (Cortland)
5000- I think it'll be a close one between Kosgei and Willy Kaul. Obviously Kosgei beat him by a fairly big margin at XC Nat's but from the look of things Kaul looked to be running for second place as he made no move to catch Kosgei and had a lot left at the finish. Contesting for the remaining spots are: Chenoweth (Wartburg), Shamus Nally and Seth Dubouis (Cortland). However I think Mike Spain, who I believe was the top freshman in the country last yr in the 5k (14:3x) and followed that up with an excellent cross season, will get 3rd
1. Kosgei (Hamilton)
2. Kaul (UW-Oshkosh)
3. Spain (North Central)
lol let me revise that:
800 w/out kosgei
1. O'brien
2. Kehoe
3. Bofa
5k w/out kosgei
1. Kaul
2. Spain
3. Dubois
