Don't forget that Keflezighi had a very good set of races in summer 2007 before he got hurt going into the USOT.

And Keflezighi typically does not leave the mountain unless he's ready to run (or it's an Olympic Trial).

Same applies to Ritzenhein -- he usually doesn't lace 'em up unless he's ready.

I'm just going to hazard a guess that he breaks 1:01. He's got to have his eye on the sub-60 minute prize, but he's probably not there yet. Oh yeah, and he'll never break 13:00 for 5k.

Steve crane from arlngton va for the win. He's a former eastern Michigan standout who only used 4 years of ellgbility there, so his best times are obviously ahead as everyone knows emu guys run best at 6 years

i agree, he probably wont run that fast, doesn't make sense, if the build up is for London in April and he comes out this weekend running really fast then obviously he is way ahead of schedule and come April, he's toast.

I can't believe how quickly all the baby runners on this board forgot how good Meb is, although I guess if 5 years is a third of your lifetime, then they probably think Meb is short for Methuselah.

Meb wins in around 61:25. He's not done. Ritz second. The coverage is pretty terrible though.

This is me, eating crow. I was wrong about Meb being "done." You could knock me over with a feather this morning when I saw the results. I never would have figured that he could beat Ritz heads-up at this point, or any point, of the season. I'm impressed.
