Oh, and I'll also be interested to see the results from Cortland, which (on the men's side) may be the top DIII team in the country. Could be a very high-quality meet in a lot of events, particularly distance and mid-.

The Princeton men’s track and field team competes against Georgetown, La Salle, Maryland, Navy and Tennessee at Navy tomorrow.

The Princeton women’s track and field team competes at the Great Dane Classic at The Armory in New York City. Some team members will be absent due to exams.

Thanks, Tigerfan. Whoa, those are some impressive performances. It those were just the skeleton crews, the full squads are gonna be tough! Impressed especially by the pair of 14:35s for the guys and 9:38/9:46 for the women, but there are some very good field marks, as well.

Still no Cornell results...sometimes they're not up until the next day.

I got word that the heat was turned off in Barton Hall during the Cornell meet. Hope that didn't lead to twanging hamstrings, etc. Maduka jumped 21-9, which I believe is the NCAA leader, and Maria Matos returned to action.

It was rather cool at Navy too (moreso than two weeks ago), hence the rather slower than expected sprint times. The glass window down the whole side of the arena was probably a factor.

Some good times thrown down. Zablocki and Schroeder ran well in the 5k (pair of 14:31s). True's 3k was still a great time, but he's got to be disappointed with it. Ray ran outstanding for Yale in the 500.

someone I know on the Bryant team said their time was 3:24, not 3:04.

I'm assuming Penn held some of their better athletes out, but if their performance at the Great Dane meet is indicative of what they might do at Heps, they're not going to score many points.

Except for Ivy-Ivy duals (tris, etc.), I doubt that we've seen any school's full squad yet.

We may not have yet, even in those duals. A lot of teams seem, increasingly, to treat early-season meets (i.e. anything in December or January!) more as prep for Heps than as important meets in their own right (though I still applaud the number of scored meets in which Ivy teams are participating).

With some schools just wrapping up finals and others just getting some key people back from semesters abroad, ineligibility, or whatever, we may not have a really good idea of each team's firepower until February.

...Although I'll say that what I've seen so far from Princeton (M&W) is pretty impressive. OTOH that was true last year, too, and they didn't win all the Heps meets (they won plenty, though).

Hey, when do track signings get announced? Feb? I'm curious to see whom the Ivy schools have lined up for next year--keep hearing impressive things about several schools, esp. H.

I was at the meet - it definitely wasn't Brown's true "A" team in the 4x400.

As always, I'm willing to give a lot of credit to anyone who's willing to make specific predictions. I dunno, at this point Cornell still has some holes--though I guess I'll rate them co-favorites with Princeton (if I had to pick just one now, it'd still be PU), now that the Red have the services of Canaday and Wyner.

Speaking of which, I think Jimmy might be able to sneak into the top two in one of the distance events. Also, if Cornell loads up the DMR (a fairly big "if," I suppose), they might also get in there.

If track scored relays as swimming does (double points, IIRC), there would be some interesting entry choices made...

Any ideas what to expect at HYP's? I assume Maag and sitler will open up at UDUB as opposed to HYP but princeton always has plenty of distance runners?

What is up with half the Ivy League guys? Are they all wimps or not? It's time to race guys. Wheating, Ulrey, all those studs have raced a ton. Get your ivy league butts out there unless you are hurt.

What is up with Maag? Is he hurt? He down on the New Balance entries but didn't show.

Where is Hine for Cornell? He and Chenoweth have both only run one mile.

Where is Robbins of Dartmouth? Hasn't raced at all.

True? Is he even running Heps?
