Oh really? Then you think we should just pick the "best runners" who have a chance to medal at the Olympics do you? In that case, who gets to decide who is the "best runner"? Is is someone who is now healthy and running well, and has historically been one of our best three, though he/she hasn't been able to meet a "standard" because of injury earlier in the year? So, what you are saying is that John Chaplin should just select Adam Goucher for the team because he has a better track record than the others who met the "standard".
