It looks like Connell's improvement really started in indoors with the 4:31 mile and sub 8:50 3K, then continued with his 7th place finish in the steeplechase and then that 15:16 5K. Either he was injured in cross or he put in some serious winter training. Marotz must have no leg speed, you'd think someone who can run 32:04 would be capable of faster than 15:40, and on the indoor honor roll he is listed at a 4:42 mile. He was somewhat inconsistent as well - he looked terrible in the 5K at MIAC indoors, but then ran real well in the 10K outdoors.
