I'm not one who thinks that women should take a man's surname these days. I remember watching a story about this Canadian hockey guy Don Cherry. His son-in-law took Cherry to pass on the name because Don Cherry had no sons.
Kenyan siblings sometimes have different surnames from each other and their father. I've wondered why this is.
It's sort of funny that some people prefer a son to pass on the family name. There may be millions of Lees or Smiths but you still have to pass on the family name because your family's special.
