Stanford
Stanford
How do you know? Has she stated that she wants to go there, or is it almost a certainty?
Personally, I think Jordan will have a decent career post HS.
She doesn't appear to be the anorexic type which is one of the sure signs that a girl will not succeed post HS.
1. She will attend Stanford.
2. She has run 10:03-04 since her frosh year.
3. She made the "B" standard in the 1500 after her soph year at jr. worlds taking 2nd.
4. She runs about 55-60 MPW currently and swims about 10 MPW
Room for improvement? I think she is really physically trained right now. Time will tell if she can handle an increase in mileage. I suspect she will be fine. My sense is that this year her attempt at the Oly trials is for experience and to test her speed. London is where she will shine in the 5K.
Everyone wants to go to Stanford but may not have the grades to get in. Some may get in thru connections, legacy, mommy and daddy's money, squeaking thru with marginal academics but they end up transferring out. The profs here don't care if you can sub 4 after drinking a keg of beer and smoking a a pack of camels. Getting in is easy, you have to be a genius to graduate from Stanford, even the football players here are geniuses. Hasay will be on campus this fall.
It would be a mistake to pick a school a full year ahead of time.
Wait, so I'm wondering.. how do you all know that she is going to attend Stanford? Has she completely decided on that, because last I heard she mentioned Oregon and Washington as well. When has she said that she will be going to Stanford (as almost a certainty)?
Girls grow up faster than boys. She's skipping her senior year and in favor of Escondido.
you do realize that shes the top of her class right? and btw, where at all has jordan ever said what college shes looking at. i personally have never read anything that said she was interested in wash/oregon/stanford or anything like that. this discussion sounds like a bunch of people just making crap up. and IMO if you run 10:07 as a freshman girl how much do you really think
In maybe December or January (few months ago) or so, I remember reading an article written by her local paper (the San Luis Obispo Tribune) saying that she was looking at strong distance schools like "Washington, Oregon, and Stanford" and would be visiting them over the summer. That's where that comes up (I'm not sure if they took the article down after a few months though).
However, I want to know how all the people who are saying that she will be attending Stanford know this.. has she said she is leaning towards that/confirmed it in any way?
She is going to suck. I guarantee it. Look at her; she's a little girl. Wait until she's a woman.
Am I the only one this doesn't sound right to...?
..her school has like 300 people. That's ~75 in one grade..
Americans talk like she is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Stop putting so much pressure on someone so young. There's plenty of other talents out there so just back off a bit and let her do her thing.
Example of said talent.

yeah, it's a prep school dude. like the prep school's that at least half of stanfords student attended grades 9-12. and yes, she is LEANING towrds stanford, but perhaps 75-85% would be a correct answer to how she leans at the moment.
further, Mando (her coach) is NOT going to burn her out, nor will she have zero improvement left when she finishes high school. heck, i'd love to see her turn pro and still go to stanford and have her shoe company pay for school (ala nike and webb) but that'll have to wait until after this year.
How does she manage it?? Getting great grades + devoting TONS of time to running?
Do you know her/have talked to her/her parents or her coach to know that she is leaning towards Stanford?
Wow, if Stanford's already #1 and getting a huge class this year + Hasay next year, it's going to be very hard to run on that team..
The Golden Gophers of Minnesota.

Your point? (I'm actually asking.) What became of Miss Brichacek?
yeah right, and my sister is the former provost. you troll.
Seriously not a troll. Sorry if it is goes against your ideal image. Who really cares about how hard a school is anyway? These days, grad school is the equivalent of what college used to be anyway (we hardly consider candidates without a graduate degree). After you're hired, your employer absolutely won't care how hard your school was. So, again, I don't care, but the post about the degree of difficulty and the number of geniuses at Stanford (which is obviously a great school) is ridiculous.
Are you one of the football players? Your response definitely indicates that you are indeed a genius.

Sara Hall is a genius. Nice.
