I think you’ll find that the ‘boxing’ fans that follow Hatton are in the main - football fans - and the worst form of British football fan as well.

As with the many drunken British tourists one meets on holiday in places like Spain, a fair proportion, probably the majority, of British football supporters are uncultured, uncouth, low life scum.

Thankfully, there are still some areas of sport in our country where standards of behaviour are instinctively civilised and mature.

Rugby (both codes) supporters are one example and there are similar in other minority sports.

I hope Americans don’t judge us all by those mindless morons that disgraced our country and flag in Las Vegas.

Its being taken out of proportion, the fans were just trying to get behind Hatton against an egotistical twit (although a very good boxer). I think a lot of Brits feel that the US stereotypes us as Bowler Hat, posh talking, city gents which we're clearly not. Although I don't think it was particularly clever to boo the anthem it didn't harm anyone. I think most people would agree the British support is pretty fantastic it actually made the fight - what sportsman/woman in the states would get 20,000 supporters following them across the world? At last years World Cup in Germany England took over 100,000 supporters!!

So........Well what can i say

1) You Americans love the English all you ever say to us when in the states is 'Oh my god where you from? i love your accent your so cool'.

2) You Americans love to play your national Anthem at everything, when someone wipes there arse you play it.

3) Its not the English peoples falt we know how to cheer on at sports events, i mean it was on your home turf and we out did you. Im sure i heard a chant Dee - Fence, Dee - Fence going on by you dummies.

4) You can talk about us British when you learn something about Britain or even something about what is outside the USA.

Sorry for making all you lot cry at the fight, but you know what your just jelous you guys dont have the support.

It´s a much different Japan now. The Japanese nowadays have all the respect in the world for Americans. Go there and you´ll know what I´m talking about. It´s kind of odd--isn´t it?--that the country we defeated in war would respect us much more than the ones we defended. Gain some perspective.

As someone who lives in Japan I have all the perspective I need cheers. Go to any school in any country, the bully has many 'friends'.

Brits are fine, they are just over-rated just like everything they have ever produced.

Lennox Lewis, Mel B, Hatton, Jaguars, Monty Python, Hugh Grant, David Beckham (how's that Euro 2008 qualifying going, oh that's right you guys didn't qualify for the tournament and you invented the sport!)

Brits take themselves way too seriously when their country is a dreary overcast expensive cold joke that was ONCE a great place - now they are the US's bitch.

If Brits want a lesson in being great ask Australia. NOW THAT is a country/people.

Oh and the boos should have been for Hatton chin in round 10, not for the US' anthem.

I was at the fight, and it was disgraceful, no matter whose anthem it was.

My girlfriend boos when we make love because she knows it turns me on.

I was at the fight also and surrounded by brits (as the majority of the crowd were british - so much for them only getting 3000 tickets) and eveyone stood by me when the star spangled banner was getting booed were silent and quite embarrassed. In contrast to several fine upstanding members of the community like myself! there were a lot of loud drunken oiks also booing anything and everything associated with Mayweather. It was equally bad the day before at the weigh-in when some famous US sports anchor man was introduced as having interviewd Ali in his prime and brought to the stage to say a few words. I didn't catch his name though as the boo boys were so loud. The poor guy eventually walked off stage before he got to say what he was there for as he couldn't be heard above the boos. Now that is disrespectful.

Its a bit much though to extrapolate the behaviour of a few (thousand) drunks as being representative of a nation. These blokes had been drinking solidly for days; they would have cheered Ricky blowing his nose and were equally unselective at booing Mayweather.

You don´t make any sense there. I was talking about countries as friends, and yet you´re suggesting that I can go to "any school in any country" and find that the United States has friends (countries) within those schools. Once again, gain some perspective. Additionally, I don´t care whether you live in Japan or not because you don´t speak for the Japanese. I would challenge you to refute my argument, but it appears that you are incapable of doing so coherently. I also reserve the right as an American to have an opinion about which countries seem like legitimate friends to the U.S.A. and which are merely allies.
