Did Anyone Read Sally Jenkins' Article Today Making the Argument for Legalizing PEDs??

that article is terrible. her main points don't make any sense and i get the feeling she is either very dumb or she put absolutely no thought into the issue before writing it.

I agree. It's a weak argument that wouldn't stand up to serious scrutiny in a court room.

But I don't think she's dumb or hasn't put thought into it. There just isn't a very good argument to legalize PEDs.

I get the sense Jenkins' has an agenda to defend drug cheats she has befriended and made a lot of money with. Just a thought.

oh I get it. you can jog a mile so it's a sport. If you tried to squat even 300 pounds you'd be squashed into the gym floor in a pool of blood and pasty white boy so powerlifting isn't a sport.

W's point is an excellent one - a PED free for all would really eliminate youth participation as we know it. Only a tiny fraction of athletes continue on past high school, and even a smaller fraction after that. But the benefits to those that participate as young people are immense and stay with them in many cases for their entire lives. It would be a shame to imperil that.

W is right - what parent is going to support their kid going into a sport where the rules of the game require a free for all - irrespective of how destructive it may be to the health of young people? Forget it. Imperfect as it may be, the good fight has to be fought. And thanks to the Brothers Johnson for continuing to do so.

Exactly. Distance runners envy us--we're out getting laid while they're at home whining and limping around on their twig-ass legs and gobbling advil.

Hell why stop there. The same arguments can be made for all laws. Let's legalize all drugs. And while we're at it let's make all crimes legal. Murder, rape, theft, everything. Just like it was before there were any laws. The strong will survive and the weak will die. No police, no jails, no courts. Doesn't sound all that bad to me. After all, we all cheat right Sally?

I agree. That's why I'm in favor of executing sodomites and adulturers and those who do not keep the sabbath holy.

Sally needs to sell more Lance books. Lance is tainted now. Making PEDS legal changes the view on Lance and then we can all celebrate his victory, ....err get out of jail card...once again, over cancer, and of course sell more books.

PEDS are unfair because it allows the donkeys to become thoroughbreds and the thoroughbreds remain somewhat the same.

PED use is like A "no athlete left behind program". Let's not celebrate the gifted. Let's eventually dumb down everything.

Actually, when I looked at the "real" reasons for the death of those wrestlers, the first thing I thought about was steroids. If there is any truth to the "roid rage", depression, mania, etc. that is often referenced in the discussion of anabolic steroids, then all of those suicides, homicides, and drug overdoses can arguably be linked to a long history of PED abuse.
