Actually, the co-worker sounds more like a ditto-head: Our country right or wrong. Torture people? Sure! You know the other side is doing it. Blow up their civilians? Sure! They did it to ours! Support Abu Gonzales suspension of our own civil rights? Sure! Our enemies aren't burdened by those. That's why their trains run on time etc. etc....
