I remember last year, that he indicated not going back to the SC. My impression was that he was on the fence regarding going back to it as an event.
john has done quite a bit with this kid. i'd look for him to go even a bit faster. his work ethic in unbelievable from what i hear in fayetteville.

Seth is the real deal. nothing is fishy there. i talked to him a few weeks ago and he said that his big improvement was due to 2 and a half years of consistent training and is now running for himself. no longer is he having to "race" in workouts just to run in group 1. and no more SECs! John is picking the best races for this kid and he is stepping up huge in them. those times are just the tip of his talent. Having trained with him at Ark and seen first hand his commitment to this sport, im glad to see him running well. Keep Kickin Ass Seth!

Seth has run PRs mostly off his All-American performance at Arkansas in the fall of 2006, which is where he got his base. The Tyson 3k had Seth on pace with Tegenkamp through 2k and it was too much for Seth, so how fishy is that one. Seth ran off the secod group at Mt Sac and Stanford and in both instances he was first out of those second groups. Seth was upset personally with not breakin 28 minutes and not breaking 13:30 as those were his goals going into those races. His training partner was 7:43 in the same 3k and Al was 3:36 in the 1500, so Seth does not train with a buch of chumps in a bubble. He is for real and exactly equivalent to a 9:33 2 Miler in HS running sub 8 minutes in 3k in one year - Stinkin Dan Lincoln - Grow Up Ritz's injury to Salazar's group is Fishy. Rupp's coach being a Balco and SNAC client perminently and Salazar's personal relationship with Victor Conte, which is a reality not a guess. Look at the Balco case or the SNAC website. Grow up, the drugs are in Portland, not in Fayetteville. When has anyone in Fayetteville been busted for a real drug? Bar none, with Tyson, Wallace, Alistair, Said, Seth, Boit, the McClary brothers, and the eligible team members, Fayettville could have the best group of track athletes in one town in the entire world - OH, don't foget Veronica Campbell lies in the Ville too. Get off the bullshit, Seth has done the same thing in 3 years that Dan Lincoln did in two years in the Ville - hard work and the best collegiate track & field coach or for that matter best collegiate coach in any sport all time - 42 Natioal Titles, a record even Vinny Lannana with the unlimited Phil Knight budget will NEVER touch! Johnny Mac is not done either, there will be more NCAA titles in Fayetteville with Ko and Bailey being a sophmore and a freshman, the future will be bright, and the McClary brothers for 2008 and you have a contending team indoors next March. This is what Oregon and the unlimited Nike budget will have to beat next year in track. FSU will handle the field in June with LSU, Tennessee, and Auburn right there waiting for FSU to slip up. The SEC will have 3 of the top 5 teams, as the SEC is the best conference in this sport, look a the NCAA results the last 10 years and you will have no debate. When Pigg Sooie is echoed next indoor season and at the SEC Cross meet next fall, the rest of the field will understand what HOG WILD means when ineffect the Hogs go wild on YOU! Being jealous over Seth Summerside's success is something that has been happening with Arkansas athletes since Falcon and others in the 1980s. Seth will run under 13:20 this year and if he gets into a good 1500 will run under 3:39.

I really don't think Summerside would dope. I only have known him on a limited basis, however. He did have an incredible improvement upon transferring to Arkansas but I think that may have just been more of a very talented guy not knowing what he could really do with a little training and some guts.
I think (and hope) he is clean.

Food for thought; I watched him pace make in the 3k at Arkansas's last chance indoor meet this year, and would have easily run 7:52-54, but instead came to nearly a complete stop to get the rest of the pack back so he could push them for the last 150m before dropping out.

Seth was 154lbs and a decent runner before Ark. now he is 144 and a National caliber athlete. Seth put in the miles, lost unneeded weight, spent several years developing and is now reaping the benefits.
for you guys that think he is doping...i see that as a compliment. this guy is now good enough for you to not only know his name but think that he is running those times off Drugs. Get real! This guy still doesn't even have a contract!!! He just finished up school and is now ready to take a real jump in performance.
about the video...i think the commentators missed the story of that race. There are too many guys like Seth out there that are running real well right now and they are not getting any pub. Seth just ran with 3:36, 13:10-15 and 27:30s guys. he was even coming up on Barrios' shoulder with 250 to go.
Luis Bordes of Arkansas distance failed a drug test, and that was on your team. So do not act so high and mighty, accusing Salazar's group of anything and those in Portland.
