I do everything I can to eat healthy foods, rarely eat fast foods and am an avid ingredient reader on all packages.
There is one thing I REFUSE compromise.
Skippy chunky peanut butter is one of the greatest products created by mankind.
I don't care how much sugar is in it, I will never give it up.
Since childhood, I have eaten it on sandwiches, crakers, with a knife, spoon and my fingers and will continue to do so as long as I am on this earth.
Yeah, my preference for the no-sugar stir-it-up kind with generous amounts of honey is more of a taste thing than a health guideline. The interesting thing is, when I was younger I was told I was allergic to peanut butter (I know! it WAS really horrible!), so for a long time I never ate it, while my brother grew up eating and loving JIF creamy. After a while my allergy went away, or something, and by that time my brother was older and out of the house and my parents had gotten into the all-natural kind because of the whole trans-fat fiasco, so once I started eating peanut butter regularly that was what was available in the house. And ever since, my brother has continued to prefer JIF on taste grounds, and I have continued to prefer the natural stir-it-up kind on taste grounds, and we will never meet in the middle, except for a fight.
Anyway I like your style too, laldc. I think all peanut butter friends should unite regardless of ingredients, consistency, etc.
